Fair Haven & Westville Railroad Co. 154
1902 J. G. Brill Co.
by Tim Lesniak, August 2006
Car 154 ran for the Fair Haven & Westville Railroad. In the winter, when open cars like #355 sat idle , some street railway companies would place the wheel sets (called trucks) of the open car trucks under the closed cars, thus having one set of trucks for two cars. Cars 154 and 355 were truely sisters, since they shared the same wheels. Later, when the Fair Haven & Westville Railroad was sold to the Connecticut Company, it was turned into a service car and renumbered 0309.
