Your Visit
Your visit to the Connecticut Trolley Museum includes many exciting activities. After stopping into the gift shop to purchase your tickets, you'll be able to take trolley rides, view several historic displays in the museum Visitor's Center, visit the Connecticut Fire Museum, and view a film on the history of trolleys and the railroad in the museum theater.
Trolley Ride
The highlight of every visit, especially for the children, is being able to ride on one of the several operating antique trolley cars in our collection. Your trolley ride will last about 20 minutes and will take you through the scenic Connecticut countryside. You’ll even travel past a small airport on your trip! At the end of track, your motorman will give a brief historical narrative discussing the history of trolleys, and our museum’s right of way.
Teresalee Bertinuson Visitor's Center
The Teresalee Bertinuson Visitor’s Center has been rearranged this year to include a brand new exhibit. This exhibit, "History & Evolution of the Electric Trolley and its Impact on Society", will walk you through the history of the trolley starting with the horse car and moving right through the trolleys of today.
Museum Theater
The museum theater features a film approximately 20 minutes long that will explain the history of the trolleys and steam railroads. This informative film is a great way to relax before taking your second trolley ride on a different car.

Connecticut Fire Museum
The Connecticut Fire Museum features restored fire trucks and other fire fighting equipment. It is located behind the trolley museum visitor’s center and is sure to thrill everyone who loves a big red fire truck.
Gift Shop
Your first stop when arriving on the ground to purchase your tickets but also make sure to stop back to buy that "special" souvenir to remember your visit. We carry many lovely items for both children and adults.
Dining Car
The snack bar is open weekends only and serves hot dogs, chicken tenders, pizza and ice cream. The dining car is a great place to sit and enjoy your refreshments while watching the trolleys arrive and depart from North Road Station.
Please note that your admission is good for unlimited trolley rides all day, as well as admission to the visitor's center, fire museum and theater.
