INDEPENDENCE DAY '09

More than just cookouts and fireworks, a celebration of our place in time and all that it has taken to bring us to this

July 4th, 2009. For a moment, acknowledge and appreciate

this freedom that we all so seldom contemplate...

CTM PRESIDENTS' THOUGHTS FOR THE FOURTH

The July forth weekend with the fireworks, picnics, time spent with family and other festivities provides us all an opportunity to celebrate our great nation.  It also provides an opportunity to assess the 2009 year.

We are now half way through this year.  Obviously the economy is not what we would prefer, but the museum is operating at full throttle (pardon the pun) and attendance has been reasonably good considering the weather.

We have already achieved a number of objectives for the year.  The snack bar is up and running as is our committee charged with fundraising through donations and grants.  355 is on the line running for the public and our track department is busy keeping 355 and the other cars on the track.  The theatre is up and running with a film for the public to see and work is progressing on re-building the doors to both Woods Barn and Kelly Barn.  All of the museum departments are busy in their various pursuits to keep the museum in operation.  There is truly a lot going on around the property and a lot of good work being accomplished.

We still have 6 months to go with a lot to accomplish before the end of the year.  We are already planning for the Halloween and Christmas seasons and with the expanded schedule, we expect the next six months to be even busier then the previous.

Thank you one and all to our members for your continued support and volunteering.  Have a great Holiday weekend, whether you are spending it with your family, friends or with your Museum family.
